Default winter fuel treatment

What is the general consensus about gas treatment during weeks (or months) of non use during the winter. The car is always garaged with a full tank. Is it advisable to add StaBil or any other fuel treatment ??
Thanks,
Steve

Why would you need that?
I use to store my MG every winter, about 6 month and I just let the car be. Every spring the car starts and I keep on driving. Did that for 8 years before I sold it and bought the Jag.

I use marine grade Stabil as I do with all my gas powered equipment. Never had a problem in the spring. I never tried not doing it so I don't know what would happen if I didn't.

Over here in the States the "gas" is formulated with chemicals and ethanol ,, and it deteriorates over a period of time. It is advised to use a fuel conditioner on most gas engines, but I don't know how it would affect the high test and fuel system in a Jag XK. The fuel must be different over there in Sweden.

I use Sea Foam and a full tank of gas. I'll run the car in winter if the roads are clear and dry. So I'm just in a temporary storage mode where maybe the car is not driven for 6 - 8 weeks worse case.

Whatever is on sale locally here. Usually Staybil. Would not go a winter without it. $3.50 is not worth debating "should I or shouldn't I?"

You can most likely get away without using anything if you are storing for a few months. From what I have read and heard the ethanol has a storage life of 60-90 days before it starts to gel. Once the process starts it has a tendency to plug nozzles and orifices. Problems usually happen in small equipment but also affects carbs and injectors. The stabil type products extends the period where the gel process starts to take place. So cheap investment for those who store the car.

+1. Great stuff. Designed for methanol mixed fuels.

It's green. Not red. Walmart/Amazon.
