Winter storage
Does anyone have any recommendations on storing my Jag for the cold winter months, particularly the use of a battery float charger and where to connect the negative terminal.
The positive is accessed through the panel in the trunk, but I didn't want to disassemble the trunk to get to the negative terminal. Someone mentioned that I should just connect the negative to the tailpipe. Any thoughts on this?

RE: Winter storage
I bought a set of rubber tire cradles which prevent flat spots.
My dealer told me the same thing about connecting to the tailpipe. However, I bought a Ctek 3300 battery tender and have the eyelet terminals mounted to the battery with only the quick connect plug exposed in the trunk. It works great

Hi Mike: After 3 years with my BMW e38, I traded-up for a 2004 XJR. The car is sweet and a ton of fun to drive.
In fact, I picked up a clunker for my everyday commute so that I can keep the XJR is pristine condition. I plan to drive her only on the weekends and perhaps once during the week.
I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have with respect to battery tenders that would fit my driving schedule. The set-up in this post sounds on point, and I would appreciate your sending me a pic (and any instructions for a novice) on hooking it up.
Thanks, Jedd

Winter Storage
I also store two cars for the winter and use the Battery Tender for a crisp startup in the spring. I also found a "car bag" along with the custom cover which I bought from an online vendor that's perfect for storing a vehicle in a cold garage/barn. It zips up and comes with desiccant bags to absorb any moisture... I was sold a few years ago when I got the car out in spring with no oxidation ... even the rotors were shinny. It keeps any rodents out which is also a big plus for anyone who has had the nest in the air box syndrome… lol
Winter sucks if you have nice vehicles… I always say I’m moving south this time of the year but remember why I stay on the first sixty degree day in March!!
