Not as long as it has a dial for the transmission shifter ! Had to buy an 2015 Acura MDX because the 2016 & on don't have a proper gear shift lever either.
My 2007 XK Coupe is by far the best Jag I have ever owned ( 14 so far!).
Drove a F-Type; great performance; but too small ! I like a 2+2, the XK looks better and does not quit at stop lights!!!.....................
At 85 not really going to change, I am still in love with my XK Coupe including it's 8 year old battery!

Cheers, Adrian (founder member JDCNWA)!

LOL. That dial shifter was one of the big selling points for me. First on the XF I used to own, and currently on my XJL. Different strokes for different folks.

I would love to have an AWD F-Type R. I think that thing is ridiculous - in a "HOLY CRAP, that thing is awesome!" kind of way. I don't really see either as a daily, but both as their own flavor of supercar meets humbleness.

Would be better if I could keep both my XKR and have the F-Type R also, though. 😂🤣

I am 78. Over the last 3 years moved from DB9, (to much hassle, unreliable, cumbersome etc), to a 2012 XK, nice car for an old man, to a 2014 F type, I’m a kid again! Fast, nimble lovely noise, gorgeous to look at; never had so many people come to me admiring the car. Had an etype in the early 80’s, get more looks in this than ever before in the “e”.

Kudos! To paraphrase Groucho Marx, you are as old as the woman you feel and, it seems, the type of car you drive! Enjoy!

Age is cerebral, not chronological; it's Mind over Matter. If she doesn't mind, it doesn't matter!

While some think that the XK is the pinnacle of beauty (no argument there), I would argue that the F-Type is a very worthy contestant in the competition. Here is mine - the colour is British Racing Green, Xirallic formulation:

Beautiful to look at, fantastic to drive (it releases my inner hooligan), very comfortable and luxurious (no wood trim but full leather and every electronic convenience possible), but a sports car, not a Grand Touring car like the XK (although it makes a superb tourer). Butter-soft premium leather everywhere: seats, doors, dashboard, console, roof lining....

1000-way memory seat adjustment:

Plenty of beautifully-finished luggage room for long distrance travel for two:

The leather-covered grab bar for a nervous passenger, superb and easy to use 3-dial climate control with button control of AC etc.: no need to go into the touch screen menu, lightening-quick 8 speed paddle shifts or silky automatic - your choice;

Very satisfying indeed. So do I miss my beautiful XK (below). NO.

When they add a backseat, or just a package-shelf (which is really all the seat in an XK is) to the F-Type, I'll trade in an instant. Also, can't say I like the taillights on the F-Type and the new makeover makes it look too much like an Audi. I think they could have modernized the design and retained a more Jaguar look.

Even my 2012 XF feels so much tighter, quieter, with materials that feel like a higher quality.

Has anyone thought about moving up to an F-Type? The 2014 examples could be had for around $30k.

This is a serious question and your opinions are welcome.

Thanks,

Ken
NOPE!They got old fashion cheap convertible top mechanisms if you buy a convertible 1 while the XK convertible top is damn near bentley exotic.F-Types don't have enough room and small like a lame Miata and I atleast use my back seats of my XKR to put extra stuff in them.F-Types got ugly headlights like a wanna be GTR or debut model 2000 Ford Focus and I was never a fan of R35s but i sort of like the R34 and R33.But if you got a plain Jane XK and that thing not supercharged...THEN BY All MEANS trade that in for an F-Type cause you can SERIOUSLY use the upgrade and need it to happen somewhere cause you gone definitely get it in speed lol
