I actually know people who've made a kinda-sort living out of cranking out these pieces. The "experienced" ones get $75-100 per article.
Chat GPT (and others to come) has effectively eliminated this. One of the people I know is using it now to crank out these "articles" at a very brisk clip, like 10 a day, until the whole thing comes crashing down. At some point soon the source (the entity who pays) will figure this out and simply do it themselves.
