XJR start Question

XJR start Question
I had a 1998 XJ8 several years ago and decided to buy a 1999 XJR for fun. I located one on the web with only 42K miles had it checked out by the jag dealer that had maintained it, checked all the service records and had an independent mechanic check it out which all came up good. About a week ago I flew into FL and verified the car was what I thought it would be and purchased it.
I stayed in FL for a couple of days and it ran great. Drove it home over 1300 miles and never had a problem.
Today after not having used the car for a couple of days I tried to unlock it using the remote and it did not respond. So I placed the Black key in the drivers door and went right once, drivers opened, twice all four doors were now unlocked. I got in the car placed the key in the ignition and placed in in the run position and all the lights, AC, radio etc came on as per usual. I placed the key in the start position and nothing, I mean nothing happened. I had to unlock the truck which should have unlocked it self when I unlocked the car and hooked up some jumpers to make sure it had plenty of power. Still nothing when I tried to start it. When I left the car I hit the lock button on the dash it it did not respond. I am thinking between the remote, the manual open, the trunk not unlocking, possibly the valet feature, the fact it would not lock the car from the button on the dash - that it has placed it self in some sort of saftey mode and refuses to turn over to start? PLEASE ADVISE ........
I look forward to as much input as is available. Thanks in advance.
