XK 2007 antenna replacement
No, wasn't looking for a different antenna, I've seen the thread from August this year.
I just bought the car a month ago. My wife decided to do me a favor and wash it ... just forgot to turn off the radio. Speak about breaking my heart ...
The grommet was lost in the process and as our local dealership advised me, you can't purchase the grommet any longer separately. Replacement cost including installation run at $750. I wonder whether anyone can point me to a solution on how to replace the grommet or even the antenna. I bought on ebay a cheap replica to get a grommet which was supposed to fit (and didn't). On part sides I couldn't find anything on antennas, neither on salvages sites.
I'm a bit at a loss and still not willing to pay $750 for it.
Suggestions?

I am assuming you are referring to the body-colored grommet.
See if SNG Barrett or Gaudin Jaguar Parts can get it. Part number is c2p11987xxx. Here is the Gaudin lisitng: Jaguar Parts - Direct JPLV Porsche Parts.com
I believe this is for a primed, unpainted version. A small part like this would be easy enough to paint yourself with spray paint from Touch Up Paint and Accessories | AutomotiveTouchup using the color code for your car in the door jamb. You will also need clear coat.
Also, if the grommet truly is not available, note that the online price for a genuine replacement antenna appears to be about half of what your dealer is quoting.

Mast replacement
No, I didn't. And in that explosion graph, the mast appears to be part of the assembly including the motor. I could need a new one since due to the "washer experience" the antenna has been slightly bent. Where did you get your replacements? My dealership told me that they can't order the mast separately either.

You could make your own out of wood and then glue on after painting it; does sound too difficult and might cost as much as $1-$5...................assuming you have touch-up paint on hand!
Or go hi tech and have it printed...............
And which Redmond? Wa, Or or what.........
Cheers, Adrian

The mast(chrome part) will come out once you remove the power antenna assy. I think there is a nut on top that you have to remove. Then run the antenna and pull it out. There should be instructions on here. It's the same mast as the 06 back XK8. If you can't figure it out or need help, just let me know. If you were close, I'd show you how to do it. I got mine off Ebay. I kept hanging mine on the garage door because the dummy driving(me) would forget to turn the radio off. After three of them I just left it down.
Cheers

Awesome documentation!
Superb description of what to do and really helpful hint with the tube to insert the nylon string. For the grommet I found it helpful to heat it up with a hairdryer. Makes the rubber extremely flexible and with an easy twist the grommet pops off. Same for inserting it again after completion of the work.

2007 XK Integrated Radio Aerial - Customer Pay Upgrade
Dpezxk8 is correct, there is an integrated radio antenna (aerial) kit that will replace power antenna. There is a Technical Service Bulletin JTB00105, dated 14 July 2008, about it: Section: 415
2007 XK Integrated Radio Aerial - Customer Pay Upgrade
There are different parts for coupe and convertible, which replace the rear trunk lid spoiler, and run a new antenna cable to the radio.
Parts:
C2P 16198 XXX - Integrated aerial kit - Coupe
C2P 16200 XXX - Integrated aerial kit - Convertible
C2P 17367 - Aerial coaxial cable kit
Don't know how much it costs, but it does appear to be an option.

Found another post that had the kit but it was $750.00 + install so I saw where some just removed Fuse 4 in the rear seat fuse box to disable the antenna and just leave it down.
Turns out you still get good FM reception but AM is gone, not that many listen to AM anymore. I want to check the electrical schematics to make sure nothing else runs through Fuse 4, but I think I found my solution.
Other owners mounted a marine antenna inside the boot or fin to replace the aerial but I'm not sure I want to go that far.

I like these ideas but I've got a strange one. My antenna above the post goes up and down but the post doesn't retract and I can't "help" it retract when I turn the radio off. I was looking at getting the Mazda mini antennae on E Bay. The number 4 fuse sounds good in the meantime but since it doesn't retract well....

I did the fuse 4 pull and based on the schematics it only controls the antenna.
Only down side is I'm about 30 miles out of Chicago and didn't get much reception after the pull. One Spanish station came in on FM so if you want FM then I would recommend the hidden marine antenna setup.
If you do a forum search you can find the thread and it is pretty detailed with the parts required.
For me I had a lifetime satellite plan on a home radio I bought in 05 and just transferred it to the car. Cost me $75.00 to transfer but I figure between Satellite, 6CD changer, and USB, I really don't need AM/FM. If I ever want to put it back I'll just replace fuse 4.
