Angry XK HEADLAMPS polycarbonate (Plastic) Damage

I had my 2011 XK parked during 3 or 4 weeks on the outside but under a roof and with a carpet on.
This carpet is one that has more than one layer with a soft interior and a different outer layer to protect from bad weather.
Unfortunately, for some hours each day, there was direct sunlight that came up to the front part of my XK, where the headlamps are.
When I lifted up the carpet I saw that both headlamps had its polycarbonate, or transparent plastic parts, with many small cracks, perhaps, due to a high temperature under the carpet.
I asked the Jaguar dealer if there is a way to arrange these cracks, but they couldn't find one that was different from changing both headlamps that in my country, at least, are not cheap at all.
Should I get accustomed to have these cracks that are visible in my beautiful XK, or buy these expensive headlamps?
Is it possible to change only the polycarbonates, not for sale in my country, Chile, originals or OEM?
Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X150 forum. Over 100 Views but 0 Replies to it in General Tech Help forum.

The bad news is the headlamp lens is not available separately. However members with the same model may have experience of this issue and advice on a resolution.

Hello, the lens have a coating that protects from UV dammage.
The cracks probably happened from this coating being dammaged.

You may be able to find products that will let you sand and re-coat your head light covers.
There are those with more experience in car detailing that may have more specific suggestions than I do.

You could always put a lightly tinted headlight tint over your headlights. It will block very little light and at least cover up the majority of the cracking (crazing?) so it's way less noticeable.

Thank you for your response.
I took my car to the Jaguar dealer and they tried to remove the cracks, with no result.
Your idea of trying with experts on detailing is a good one.
Thank you, Tervuren.

Thank you for your help, Cee Jay.
I found your idea interesting.
My car is a white one so I´ll have to try a lightly tinted color that looks good and makes it less noticeable.
I'll take my car to a detailing expert.
Thank you.

Yes you can try tinting. I had swirl marks and minor cracks. The tint hid them very well.
