XK mid-pipe on an XKR is win!
How much did you spend on that, if you don't mind me asking?
Luckily for me the system was on the car when i purchased it, so don't know, was one of the reasons i bought it. The sound was the deal clincher.
Also, for those of you looking at this, a new mid-pipe for non-supercharged (XK) is only $286 + S/H/tax on Gaudin Jaguar Parts.com!!

Has anyone else tried this mod yet? I'm curious whether or not it causes a lot of droning on the highway or at idle. My XKR already has some buzzing/droning depending on the temperature outside!
If you mean the XK mid-pipe mod, no. Absolutely no drone at all. It's just like the original just louder.

Just found this video again of my ELITE RR exhaust system. It is one middle resonator box and the elite rear box, sound is a lovely deep roar and has a lovely crackle and pop on down shift. This was recorded on a samsung mini from inside when we did cannonball ireland 2014, not great but it will give you an idea, apologies for the music, blame the wife. Must get round to recording a good video to show the true effect.
Ok folks, here you go! Played with my new HD camera today. Videos with Fuse 19 in and removed. Quite a difference.

Simple get your exhaust shop to remove your front resonator and replace with straight pipes whilst there i would actually one step further and add an x-pipe
The difference between the xk and xkr mid pipe is the xk has 1 resonator whilst the xkr has 2

If you don't want to buy an X-Pipe for $200, buy two 45-degree mandrel bent 2.25 pipe segments for $15 each and have the shop cut 'em and weld 'em together into the X as they are quite capable. Just remember that the actual size of our OEM pipes is 60mm. Very difficult to find metric pipes in the US.
I had my center resonator removed and an X-pipe installed about 3 or 4 months ago at my local muffler shop. It cost me $280 out the door including the X-pipe, the installation, tax, the whole shebang!
If you remove one resonator you don't have to install an x-pipe. The remaining resonator mixes the pulses from the two pipes. If you remove both then you would have to do the x-pipe install. Just make sure you use a high quality stainless x-pipe. Preferable from Burns stainless. Either way make sure you use stainless.
