Nice looking (the rendering), but the rear quarter and the hood bulge are the only Jaguar-looking aspects to this car. Everything else is generic new styling. I see shades of my previous car, a 2014 BMW Z4:

Reason: add context
Even though this whole thread is an exercise in "wishful thinking," let me reiterate what I don't like about the rendering (and the BMW Z4). One of the characteristics of every beautiful Jaguar ever built are the rear haunches and how they flow into the door panels moving forward. In the rendering shown, the rear haunches come to an abrupt end at the door's rear panel gap, no forward momemtum. Then an arbitrary stamped door crease having no relation to the arch of the rear haunch appears out of nowhere just above the door handle. The Z4 exhibits the same design characteristic except that the crease goes through the door handle. This is not how Jaguars are designed and is an inexperienced photo shop designer showing his/her lack of skill.

Right. This is how Jaguars are designed so that your eye flows from front to rear or rear to front without a break, the entire body a graceful exercise in elegance - nothing extra, just a timeless beauty:
1992 Series III V12 Vanden Plas:
and the 2007 XK:
and the F-Type - all three of these have the characteristic haunch over the rear wheel, and all three have a smooth visual flow without extraneous interruptions, with nothing unnecessary:
The haunch over the rear wheel was even in the under-appreciated but excellent X-Type sedan (but not the wagon - although the uninterrupted visual flow is there as well):
and further back in time: the Mk 2 no haunch but an uninterrupted flow from front to rear:
or the 1950's XK140:
and then there is the Maserati, designed by a committee whose members agreed on nothing, or the Mercedes tank-like lump (designed in the same period as the beautiful Series I XJ6)
And so did the XJ6, which for Canada and the US was a "no options" car - virtually everything that was an option in the UK was standard equipment ffor North America. But the most important standard feature was that, in contrast to its contemporary rivals, it was beautiful - and the 1969 to 1973 Series I XJ is still beautiful. The Mercedes never was and age has not improved it!
On second reading of the posts immediately above, I see that the humour escaped me....

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, that Mercedes was the most beautiful car in the universe - under the circumstances at that time and place. It sure beat riding in a tank!
