Default XK Shift Panel

I have a 2015 XK. I am trying to find a source to replace just the silver trim around the shift panel vs spending $1000 to replace the whole thing. Any thoughts?

Depending on your damage, some people have wrapped the panel and had good luck. Others use paint or whatever.
Parts are difficult to locate for these things.

Removed the trim, vinyl wrap, heat and patience. There are lots of videos online and you need to wait until your wife leaves the house for awhile so you can borrow her hair dryer😎. The trim removal instructions are in the stickies at the top...

If it's only the chrome trim, have a look on Jaguar parts website. These are a LOT less than you thought. Pehaps you have been looking at the selector module cost?

The second link is to JLR in the UK. I couldn't find a US Jaguar Dealer with an illustration of the part but they would be able to order it once the Jaguar international distribution centre in Frankfurt, Germany re-opens.

Looks amazing. Which vinyl did you use? Looking to do something similar!

A similar problem is with the 4.2L model J-Gate chrome shifter surround that wears and develops sharp edges as the shifter slides against it. An inexpensive aftermarket overlay would be an ideal solution, but so far no one has come up with one.

See this thread for details:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...rround-191840/

If you have any thoughts about this fix, please post them in the above-linked thread.

I can’t believe the difference in price for the same part to fit the 2007-2009 XK.

It's not the same part. It's misleading because the catalog uses the same drawing for 3 different parts.

See my Post #14, above. The expensive part includes the chrome J-gate surround and black panel together with the bezel.

Even at $100.00 it’s twice the price of the newer item. I’m really happy with my wrap...😎 all in under $50.00.

Problem resolved. Received the part today from Jaguar parts USA. $100 vs $1000 quoted at my jaguar dealer because "it only comes packaged with the Gear Shifter".Thank you so much :-( for the guidance Graham. Truly appreciate you 🙏🏾✌🏾
