Anybody out there have the transmisison fluid changed out by a Jaguar dealer?? I'm curious about the total cost.

Maybe tomorrow I'll go to the dealer and ask, but til then, if anybody has had this done by a Jaguar Dealer, please give me an estimate.

And I do have the procedure on how to do it that I downloaded plus I've seen a video on YouTube showing how. I just have a bad case of 'don't wanna'.

 

Most buy the whole kit which is a pan-filter and fluid. Any reason why you need fluid? It's a "sealed" transmission.

My transmission pan is leaking and plan to do the kit. I did it once on my VDP, but that was at 70K, not 26K like now... Leaking is leaking and my mechanic thought it was enough to not wait too long.

I think the kit is around $260 and two hours labor from an indy

Sorry but I can't picture me jacking the car up with all four wheels off the gnd and high enough for me to crawl under it and remove the fill plug and fill it with a very hot exhaust pipe withing inches of my arm/hand with the engine running. I've gotten lazy or??? whatever.

Forgot to go to the dealer today to check the price out. Maybe Friday.

Don't know how much the dealer charges, but I had mine done at my local mechanic for $410.00. Why not call the dealer and ask, or call any dealer just to get an idea. Often when I want to see dealer costs, I will call several dealers.
