Pleased with a replacement convertible hood (top), I thoroughly washed and dried the carpets (not mats) outside of the car.
A check for mildew prior to reinstallation of the carpet revealed a minor problem. Do you see it?



The 2010 XK in this photo is 15 years old at the time of this writing. This is an obvious case. However, I have checked two other 2010-11 XKs and both have vertical cracks in the hard mastic sufficient to allow rain ingress.

Andy Maunder, the You-Tuber detective, has also found a similar mastic failure leak at the firewall.

This looks to be a "coming attraction" for die-hard XK fans.
