I use mine as a daily driver. Rain dries, car washes take care of dirt and ding can be pulled out. That's not to say I like getting dings, in fact I hate them with a passion. But it happens so I deal with it. I have a guy that comes out to my house and pulls the dings and I wash my car weekly.

I haven't had it long enough to drive in the Winter. Also, I live in Atlanta, so the Winters here are not as bad as up north. Although last Winter saw us with snow and ice for almost 6 weeks.

I was driving my 02 XKR at the time.

The XKR is fantastic in the snow. Providing you give it adequate traction with a good set of winter tyres. The stablilty program works flawlessly and the only thing you may need to do is utilize the TRAC DSC mode. I use mine daily the only weather related problem is it doesn't do well with puddles. otherwise it is a fantastic daily driver.
I am turning in my XKR in a few weeks If your interested in a good set of blizzaks/rims with TPMS PM me. What ever you do do not drive with the standard HP summer rubber on the car in the winter they are way too hard for use below 32degrees. All season tires are actually a misnomer they should be no season tires because they don't offer good performance in any weather.

Mine is a daily driver too. No real winter here but if I was in the NE I would not drive in the salt. If it looks like we will have a big rain storm I'll usually opt for my SUV as a backup.

Mine's a daily driver as well. I echo what XKRMD said - it's fine in the snow, don't drive on summer tires, and use TRAC DSC mode. I drove in 6 or 7 snowfalls/snow-ice last winter between 1" and 5" here in Colorado and had no problem. It helps to be comfortable with what to do when the back end breaks loose (I learned to drive on a VW bug and loved to downshift and fishtail) and to drive/live in fear of jamming the nice wheels into a curb. Check the manual re: TRAC DSC. Click it so it displays. That allows the wheels to slip a bit before traction control kicks in. You don't want to turn it off (holding it down for 15 seconds or so).

You may want to get a car cover. I cover in summer; and off/on other times.

I too will be using my new XK as a driver. My suggestion on door dings is park far away as we all can use the exercise.

Anyone run 20s with winter tires? I'm in MN and we get snow.

I drive mine daily, too, except in inclement weather.

Mine is as well. I just went for a 600 mile round trip road trip with my girlfriend and I can't imagine taking another car... except maybe an XKR

Yep, Daily driver as well. Love watching heads turn! Rain doesn't bother me, and I usually park well away and often take two spaces to avoid dings!

Just my experience but the XKR seems to work better as a daily driver. I think it might be because the battery stays nice and charged with daily driving so you can avoid alot of the weird electrical quirks you get with a low battery.

Use mine as a daily. It functions extremely well as a pacifier for my 42.5mi drive (each way).
I haven't taken it out in snow/ice - I'm currently keeping an Audi quattro for those 2-3 days/ year there is that kind of weather.

Using mine as a daily driver and loving it. Comfortable, reliable, yet so beautiful and thrilling that every mundane ride to work or dash to the store is an adventure.
