Default Atlanta Area Members - Caffeine and Octane Car Show

The next Caffeine and Octane meet will be at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, GA (suburban Atlanta) on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 8am to 11am.

https://www.caffeineandoctane.com It's the largest monthly car show in the USA, and is shown on the Velocity cable channel. It attracts every type and year of vehicle you can imagine.

Check out the episodes on the YouTube Caffeine and Octane channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXQ...EAgmTEZIWyFJgQ

Let's try to get some X150 models together at the next meet.

On July 22, about 20 Jag owners including about 15 F-types, a couple of XFs, and a couple of XK/XKRs are going to meet for a drive through the canyons along with lunch. Details are in the F-type forum section under the "Orange County/LA area F-type meet.
Any So Cal owners available? It would be nice to see a few more of us.

With deep regret, I have removed the ZeeMaps "xk/xkr owners map".

I have been advised by admin that this project may place each participant in possible cyber jeopardy by calling out our locations and personal information. It seems we have been robbed of another innocence by the times we live in. Admin pointed out that hackers and identity thieves surf sites like this to compile information for very bad things and that rightly, they were inclined to remove the thread for our own protection.

I apologize for getting hopes up for this project and being obtuse about not realizing these dangers are everywhere now -- a shame that it is.

My thanks to Forum Admin for the heads up.

Yes, it is shame, was cool to see owner pins appear. But knowing the risks, I made sure my pin was in my city, but not near my home.

Dunwoody is the perfect location. I had an office there many lifetimes ago.
Incidentally, if you organize an even, Villa Christina a mile up the road for Jags only on a weekend brunch would be incredible. They have and entire upper deck of a parking garage that will be empty. (IBM office I believe)

Those of you traveling to Atl for this even. The Grotto restaurant across the street from this event is still one of my ton ten spots in the world.

pwpacp (could you not have chosen a word, this is like an eye exam)

I could have told you the first minute you did it but did not want be a wet blanket. Notice I did not add my name to the list.

We live in a different world now. As a way of giving back to this community of kindred spirits; you dont realize the true ramifications of what is transpiring right now. Its far beyond compromising privacy. To be Machiavellian, simply ask yourself this question next time you see something free. 'Why would a company spend millions to give you something for free?' They know naive kids and seniors who never had internet while they had their wits will never ask that question, and dont realize the behind the scenes of these outfits. Hackers and identity thieves are the least of your concerns.

Watch they will soon start giving away those DNA tests for free- (not unlike credit reports) do you know what the Insurance companies are willing to pay to find out your condition was per-existing? its a fraction of what they would pay to treat your condition. What about Ashley Madison, that was as silly as then governor Jerry Springer giving a prossie a check with his name on it- which ended his career in politics.

By the same token, I apologize for remaining entirely anonymous, I know its rude, but now you see why. And suggest you follow suit.

I also had my pin in my city, not near my home. If someone wanted information on little old me, a single map with a tiny bit of information that is ALREADY widely dispersed on the interwebz in a thousand different locations would be the absolutely LOWEST of my concerns. I have numerous bank accounts, insurance accounts, blah and blah and blah out there already..... OH NO! Someone can see I own a car and live in a city!!!! No, I truly think that map was perfectly fine. I'm not a paranoid weirdo who is scared of the most mundane of things. Perspective, people!

They are not trying to learn where you live and what you drive. They can do that for next to nothing by buying sites like these and getting the ip log- indeed this site has been bought and sold twice already, each time to a much bigger player.

They are tying to build a much bigger picture. Jag hags on a map is an insignificant drop in the ocean. But when tied in with all the other wonderful stuff to come- now were talking about some seriously targeted adverting opportunities. That you can never get away from....

....not unlike the telemarketers phone calls. Back in the day we were so nonchalant about giving our number out, what could possibly come of it...we even published it for free to all...and here we are. Can the government protect you from the robots calling- yeah thats working out real well.

Cee Jay, they are after demographics and whats on your mind. Their bots can read every post you have ever made and figure out that you are really looking for Michelin tires. Wont it be an irony if you started getting michelin tire offers 20 years from now when you are really vulnerable.

I like the C&O show. I attend pretty regularly. That said, I'm amazed at the lack of participation by Jag owners in General. Occasionally, you'll see a XK-R sat next to an Aston...and occasional E-Type, but it would be cool to have a "JAG CORRAL" or something so we get to see some decent E-Types as well as older and newer XKs.

I've seen enough Porsches (I own one), Mustangs and F%^$% Chargers/Challengers to last me a lifetime.

What say ye C&O peeps.... any way we can get a Jaguar Corral?

I put mine back too. I don't know what kind of nefarious deeds they could do to me knowing that I live in Tucson and have a Jaguar. If they are looking that closely at me they must also know that I am a NRA life member and Arizona is one of the states that does not require a permit for concealed or open carry.

Oh no! Ads that are appropriate for me, how dreadful! I'd rather see an ad for car products or craft beer than random ladies undergarments or credit card applications. I do hate that ads are absolutely everywhere now, but that cat is already out of the bag.

Im back in too. I dont see any issue plotting my location without address specifics on the map. No difference than the info in these forums. A bigger disclosure of information would be someone driving past my house and seeing my car in my driveway.
