Please confirm the Model / Year and I'll move your question to the appropriate forum.
The steel bodied XK8/XKR was produced from 1996-2005. The replacement aluminium bodied XK/XKR was produced from 2006-2014.

And, the '08-'09s are just "XK", no "8" is involved. Or, the XKR.
