Managed to download and install a v130 on a VM, have engineering access and so on.
I've successfully disabled the AUX input, as it was showing up below CD on my Audio screen.
With it now showing:
AM/FM
CD
Entered engineering mode successfully (all options in Car configuration management - Current vehicle car configuration modification accessible to adjustment)
At this point my Accessory USB Unit has still been set to "Accessory USB Unit with USB and iPod function"
So I went ahead and set it to "Without accessory USB Unit" as to do a 'fresh' setup.
Proceeded through the wizard to save the new settings.
I re-run the "Car configuration management - Current vehicle car configuration modification" programm
Head down to "Accessory USB Unit"
Enabled "Accessory USB Unit with USB and iPod function"
Green tick to save those settings.
File gets downloaded to car. White screen on infotainment with MOST download screen displaying.
Sequence finished.
Turned ignition back on, Audio still only shows
AM/FM
CD
No sign of Portable Audio...
Are there any other options that I maybe need to turn on?
One thing I'm not sure I have are these extra configuration/as-built files. Would anyone happen to know where I could source them?
As always, help very much appreciated
SDD v130
2007 XKR Successfully downloading new config Still only AM/FM & CD... Verified the changes have been made in comparison to As-Built

I've been doing more research and have come across a Facebook post saying Mr12Volt have made advancements towards 06/07 models that haven't got USB/iPod functionality.
Apparently it isn't able to be done with just SDD alone, and the company representative will require the car in their possession in order to make changes to the current screen module.
Is there anyone that has an 06/07 XKR, without OEM USB functionality, that has successfully enabled these options on their infotainment system?
Dropping the car off and having someone else do the work isn't really a solution.

Yes this is Liam Biggs. He sells these upgrades, in England I believe.
Because the screen software (and maybe hardware) of the first year x150s did not have the USB/iPod as even an option, they either replace the screen or flash the software so that it does.
The second year x150 ‘08 in US, ‘07 in UK seems to have it because it was able to add the dealer kit option for USB/iPod.
From what I’ve seen on FB, Liam charges a few hundred bucks premium to flash/replace the head unit (they won’t say which publicly yet) on top of the $470US for the Mr12V unit and all install.
Honestly not a bad option if it works and that’s what you want.
If you are in the US, I had heard here and there that he had contacts at one point on the east coast somewhere that could also do it. But since I have an ‘08 I didn’t track it.

@LoganW , please read @Sean W 's posts #30 and #44 above. He also has a 2007MY that was without the USB module and says he successfully installed an AUU setup along with "a newer 40 pin screen flashed to an 09 MY." So since you have SDD, you should be able to replicate this in your 2007MY.
Guys, there's nothing shady going on in the UK with the seller. He just doesn't know enough detail and definitely doesn't know Jaguars. His primary business is BMW. It's not as simple with the 07,08 US models (06, 07, UK). The install of these particular years is in part, proprietary. He's not being cagey. @LoganW PM me and I can give you some guidance.

Yep. Apologies if I came across as painting Liam as shady. As Sean said, he just doesn’t know jags well.
He isn’t trying to rip anyone off. I actually think his prices are quite reasonable, considering.
Where he is frequently confused is the 07 vs 08 (US).
He lumps them together. But the 08-09 were able to purchase the iPod/USB upgrade which means they both have the USB module needed to enable it in the CCF.

Glad I don't have to deal with additional issues..
...@KurtC i want to know what size those books are in your arm rest. I love small journals.
@Circumnavigator , the books seen in my post #56 measure 4-3/4 x 3-1/8 x 1/2 inches.
I am a member of The Gideons International. We are the ones that place Bibles in hotel rooms. Those small books are Gideon Personal Workers Testaments (PWTs) which include the Bible's New Testament plus the books of Psalms and Proverbs. We give them out when witnessing to others and the cover theme and language are focused toward the recipient. I keep a selection in the consoles of our cars as one never knows when the opportunity will arise to tell others about Jesus. If you'd like one, PM me and I'll mail it to you.
I know this is a few months back but I too am struggling with a solution for CarPlay and Bluetooth for my 2007 XK coupe. This thread has been immensely beneficial for a crash (pun intended), course on the subject. After determining that the Mr12volt just would not work in this instance and not wanting to spend $3-400 on an AUU, I decided to bite the bullet on a company called NavTool. I have used it before in a 2014 Corvette to add a front camera and of course CarPlay. First, let me just say, that was a way way easier install. This go around not so much. Since they sell so many different versions of this unit, there is no way they have a video guide walk thru of every installation. For the most part it is plug and play but you do have to splice a few wires. I have the install of the unit complete and get CarPlay and all the apps it offers on screen, including Nav. Now I am working out the kinks for the cameras and the audio. The unit has lf/rt RCA outputs but of course there is no where to plug them in. I resorted to a hard-wired FM modulator from Radio Shack and it should work fine. I also contacted the JagWrangler about there plug and play AUX Bluetooth adapter to see if it would be available with RCA instead of Bluetooth. The other end is that this unit allows for four camera install that can be done via manual switching or automatic switching, (reverse for the rear, left and right turn signals, and forward camera under 10mph). I am only doing front and rear at this time but may revisit that if I find some small side cams.
I am leaving next week on a two month trip so the audio portion will have to wait until mid-April when I get back and the cameras will have to wait until the end of Sep when we stop traveling. I have a sticky on my monitor to follow up in April when I finish the audio up and will again in Sept when I do the camera set-up.
I have only had this car a few weeks but I am loving it already. Thanks for letting me participate.
Sorry if my first post here has offended you, it was not my intent. Nor do I consider myself a troll. Maybe you have found a way to make something else work but from what I have read in this thread, 2007s are out of luck. I used NavTool for them because I was familiar with the product and felt there was little else that would do what I wanted it to do. If my post was inappropriate, then moderators please let me know and remove it.
no offense taken. The company's BBB rating speaks for itself. They've trolled this site before. M12V can be made to work in an 07 and 08. But looks like you have what you need.
Yes, my first post. So for everyone that thinks I am a troll or a bot:
I joined back in 2017 because I was considering an XK at that time as well. I bought a 2014 Corvette instead. In fact, I will list cars I have owned after this to help "clear" the air. TBH, I had forgotten that I even joined back then. I am still a member of the Corvette Forum which has a very similar layout. When I started looking about 4-5 months ago and went to sign up I saw that I was already a member. Not much I can do about that. I updated my profile information to reflect my current location, added a profile picture, etc. I am most certainly not a troll. Just an auto enthusiast who after four Corvettes finally decided to get something different. In fact back in the 80s I worked for a guy that was restoring British sports cars. Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes here by posting, maybe I just need to keep it to myself going forward and just lurk.
Sports cars I have owned: 1974 Camaro, 1970.5 Camaro converted to pro street drag car after hitting a deer, 1976 Corvette L-82 4sp, 1984 Corvette, 2006 Corvette z-51 convertible 6sp w/ modified suspension for track days, 2014 Corvette Convertible, 1972 Dodge Charger
Cars I have worked on/helped restore: 1952 Allard K3, 1946 Allard K1, Allard J2 (don't remember the year but we were told it raced Pikes Peak), 1952 Nash Healy, 1967 Corvette (small block) (biggest take away from those cars were the Lucas electrical components sucked)
I have worked on cars since I was old enough to hand my dad tools and start learning (60's). From 1980 until 2004 I was in the military and as anyone that has been enlisted during that time will tell you, we didn't make enough money to hardly pay rent or buy groceries so working on your own car was the only way. I still do everything that I can do, myself, even though that is getting harder every year. We didn't have the internet back then so we learned through trial and error on those old cars. Have manf specific forums now helps a lot.

That was me calling you a troll and my mistake it appears. Several years ago, this forum was swamped with troll messages from NavTool, faster than the admins could remove them. Issues ranging from not receiving their kits, parts missing, no support, problems with refunds, you name it, Then came the troll messages.
knee jerk response on my end. Make no mistake, if you received a kit and it's working, great. You are in the vast minority. I'm surprised they're still in business. Apologies for the assumption.
Thank you Sean. I just wanted to put it out there after Cee Jay's comment followed yours. I don't know the history here so no way of knowing. I will say this about NavTool. Their website sucks, their customer service sucks, and their installation guidelines suck. The equipment, for me anyway has worked. Maybe because I have worked on just about every make of car over 50 years I have a knack for figuring it out. Or maybe I have just been lucky. Had I know the difficulty in getting the AUX input added on, I likely would have just used thejagwrangler BT solution and my phone. The screen really isn't that much bigger, lol. I had thought that the wiring would already be there and I would just need the glove box plug to plug it in. Sometimes these things don't go as planned though.
Hopefully these couple of posts will put the issue to bed as I do plan on having this car for a long time and am bound to have questions as I go along. Thanks again
John
Just wanted to give an update on what I have done with the NavTool. I did install it and do have it working. It does what it says it will and that is provide CarPlay as well as up to four camera inputs (I wanted front and rear). I have not installed the cameras and here is why. The system itself, like I said, works. That said, it is no where near as plug and play as the unit I installed in my 2014 C7. The instructions, or lack there of, were minimal and you wind up trying to figure it our on your own as there current support team now is by message through their website only. This was not how it was in 2019 when I used them before. My next complaint is that the touchscreen does not work through touch while in CarPlay mode. I would have to have a 2012 or newer for that. So instead you have a handheld bluetooth module that fits the cupholder that you use to navigate. I works, I just do not like it. Lastly, to get the sound from your phone to the speakers, you need to have the AUX and plug. If not you can either use a wired in FM module or you can purchase a blue tooth module like JagAux or similar and enable AUX in the SDD software. So I took everything apart and left it that way until I get back home in September and put it on ebay for the highest bidder. You can use it in other vehicles you will just need the appropriate cable for the interface.
Sorry for the long story. I can see why the hatred here for NavTool. I would just send the unit back and demand a refund but I have no intention of dealing with them again. In fact, I would rather have my privates pounded flat with a wooden hammer than deal with them, lol.
So now I am trying to decide what to use/do. I really wanted the back up camera but am reconsidering and thinking I may just go with a bluetooth adapter and enable AUX. I can still do everything I wanted outside the cameras with my phone, (music and navigation), which is not much smaller than the screen and has much better resolution. I can also add a bluetooth camera for back up to the phone if desired. I could also work with the Mr.12volt folks and install that. Or I could try a tesla screen installation. I have a few months to think about it and have started checking out other solutions both here and on FB.
