OK, I have read everyone's advice about the critical need to maintain the full battery charge. I have a auto regulating voltage trickle charger so what is the best way to attach it in my 2007 XKR?

I prefer connecting to the remote battery terminals in the trunk, because it is quick, easy, and safe. I posted pix as to how I did it. Others prefer connecting directly to the battery terminals. Your car, your choice.
