XKR front and rear bumper replacement/body kit
Hello to all here on this Forum,
My first post here, asking for advice and opinions on replacing my 2009 XKR front and rear bumpers with a more aggressive looking kit, similar to the XKR-S.
- Are there any XKR-S look-alike kits out there which would not need the front wings and headlights replaced too?
- What does everyone think about such an upgrade?
Any nuggets of wisdom most welcome.
Mike.

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the forum. There are many aftermarket kits out there including one that has been discussed in the last few days from Grantley. This kit changes the front end to an F-type look alike. I put a modified rear end from F/X Designs on my 2010XKR although I did not care for their front end kit. I also put side skirts and a front splitter on from Mina Galleries which has quite a few upgrades for the XK/XKR models. Good luck in personalizing your car, make it what you want. Below are a couple of photos of my changes.

I really like the rear end mod on your car. It completely transforms the timid look of the stock car to something more appropriate for a 510bhp car. I will have a look on F/X Design website. I saw some photos of the Grantley F-Type front end, they had demo car for sale here in UK I think recently. Great looking kit. I'd like to stay a little closer to the XKR look, perhaps with an XKR-S look-alike kit.
Thanks for the help. This Forum seems like a cool place and I wish I had joined this club sooner.

That, is nice. It resembles the R-S and suits the silver colour of the car well. I looked on their web site and for their front end. Am I right they are copying Aston front end?
Has anyone come across an aftermarket R-S front end that would fit a 2009 XKR without needing to replace the hood and headlights?

I couldnt find the orriginal thread so re-uploaded the images... someone contacted the seller on ebay an had no response from him, I beleive someone else found out it was a one off custom from a body shop.
on the subject of merged and copied bumpers... I'd agree that the Prior Design is a copy of the Aston Db9 front end for the Grille at least...
what most people dont notice is the back is actually a Mercedes C Class AMG rear bumper (same as the standard C class from 2011 onward) but with the carbon fibre diffuser merged into the standard XKR bumper. they will have had to extensively modify it as the measurements for exhaust and gaps between are considerably different
ignore the red box its just in the image I used...

That particular silver xkr with the 2012+ hybrid bumper got absolutely hammered on a recent thread , for me I do in fact like the modern style (2010/11) front bumper in particular the xkr75 kit does look pretty awesome
In regards to aftermarket bodykits I like Pryors' Aston style kit that is on bighendersons xkr , it suits the lines of the Jag.

I really like the look of the xk75, / pre-2010 xkrs, I dont think I'd go as far as the xkrs nose without changing the lights and if I was doing that I'd probably upgrade the car to a post 2012 model... and if I was doing that I'd probably save/ push for the xkrs anyway...
I'm going in a mixed direction... the xk75 lip spoiler, xk60 side skirts and prior design rear bumper... should look similar to this I guess but with different wheels (aftermarket silver) since I dont want to go down the all black route (keeping the chrome and silver grilles too).

I'd say its worth noting that silver is a difficult colour to pull off any kind of aero kit... unless done very well, potentially very subtly its often difficult to make it blend.. I guess it catches the light too much where as a darker or prominent colour uses accents to show the contours (such as the chrome on the windows etc). I beleive the silver car would look better with more subtle side skirts since they look stuck on more than the rest of the kit... its not really for my taste but as far as they went... its a neat job at least... on a dark coloured car it would probably look amazing...
One thing I really love about the 2012 xkrs is the extra vents in the nose cone... they give it a very purposeful look.
I always loved the Aston Db9 but the Prior kit rear is where my interest lies... I'd probably not go with the front on the basis that it makes the jag look more like a Db9. my company actually do the phone system for JLR in Gaydon and I designed the Wireless network in Aston martin so I have the occasional privilege of visiting both sites! I love both cars pretty much in equal measure but for different reasons and like to keep them separate

I believe you've picked the best combo out of the jaguar and aftermarket bin
The prior rear bumper makes the rear end look outright mean , the xkr75 bumper along with xk60 skirts tie the rest of car in very nicely looks very complete

I'd love to see a pic of the PD rear bumper if you have one too! there only seem to ever be 2 cars that I can find online with it installed!. I've just emailed PD germany to order one a day or two ago but got a bounce back telling me they are on holiday!
