You're absolutely right Matt. I checked the 2013 MY XK Ordering guide and you could not get Satellite radio on the XKR-S Convertible, but it was standard on the Coupe. Wonder why the distinction, and if that's still the case for the 2014 MY?
I remember reading that somewhere...My guess is the components are in the hardtop. Most other cars have that satellite radio fin back there.
Anyway, welcome and enjoy your new ride! They are awesome cars.

Correct. LED lights are always on when car is running. Even if headlights come on in auto setting (when it's dark) or if you turn them "on", LED lights remain on. Only time they are not is when the turn signal is on, the led on the same side goes off. However, if the headlights are on, the LED's are not deactivated by the turn signal
Bought my 2012 XKR-S with the dealer telling me it had Sat. Radio. It didn't. Neither the dealer nor Jag. Customer Relations could tell me why. Couldn't believe a 2012 , 140k car would not come std. with Sat!
Yep, I also expected it to just be there, particularly as it was in the XKR-S Coupe I test drove and is in all other Convertibles up to the XKR. I'm going to add Sirius to my iPhone - not as instantly available as being built-in to the car but good enough, and I can use it in all my other cars.
Entered a charity car show last weekend and placed third. Earned my first car trophy ever. I was beat out by a pristine fully restored 1912 Model T, and some kind of old restored ~1930's John Deere pickup truck with a wooden tractor in the bed.

Your car is looking good! I put the clear side markers on my car, which is a big improvement on a white car. Mina is switching to a new manufacturer for the carbon fiber hood louvers, so I'm still waiting for them.
If anyone is in so cal, my car will be at the Mother's exotic car gathering at LB GP next Sunday.

I took another stab at the exhaust ....
Just a short run home but so far I like this much better, much more aggressive. I am pretty sure this sounds just like the quicksilver.
Here for comparison the stock and Mina exhaust again:

this is just axle back, so I am still running stock cats. The place where I had this done has 5-6 different race cats hanging on the wall, all different cell and diameter sizes. I may consider changing those if I can hear a difference on some YouTube video that it makes a difference.
Sounds very good. Deeper less raspy. Is there a drone anywhere in the RPM range as there often is in aftermarket exhausts? Where did you buy them and how much? How long did installation take? I am considering them for my 2012 BRG convert.
Dropped my XF off to service today and sat in the XK-RS and now i know why you guys like XKRS so much. It's a beautiful car in and out. It's gotta such sexy lines....
It was black on black with lot of carbon fiber inside and little bit on the outside like the center part of the rear wing.

The Mina had drone at about 1,200RPM, so that was only noticeable in city driving during lots of stop and go and low speeds. Any highway speed around 2,000RPM and I hear no exhaust at all, all wind and tire noise. It basically was deeper, not louder, no raspy, no burble, a little drone in low rpms.
Now I hear no drone. The exhaust guy was a little puzzled because of all the piping he did in the rear. Instead of placing the mufflers at the end and just attaching tips he made the beautiful piping which looks from behind very reminiscent to an E-Type except they split and do not come out in the middle. It took him 6 hours.
I am now considering race cats. This shop has 5-6 different kind and he said he can install them for about $700. That would increase the sound level without adding any drone. So if you are happy with the XKR-S exhaust and just want louder go just race cats. If you want deeper I would replicate the Quicksilver exhaust with one center muffler. I paid $700 for the custom magnaflow exhaust. I was quoted $500 but the additional piping and bending added the cost but IMHO the aesthetics were worth it.
I am sure you can get a Quicksilver style exhaust custom made for under $1,000.
I think you will be less prone to drone in a vert. My roof line in the coupe extents to the end of the car and includes the mufflers. If you have just rear mufflers they are well outside the roof line of the vert so no resonating. You may have some vibrations throught the chassis still depending on exhaust.
Of course deeper will introduce some vibrations. My exhaust guy does resonator tubes of various lengths to counter act drone but it was not necessary for me.
Newby here.. Not too new to Jag only the R-S.. Great to be part of the team..
