Also wonder how much gtr spoilers are aftermarket on ebay etc?

which part of the fender section are you referring to BL

 

Xkr-s has a front splitter/spoiler that's carbon fiber. The only other visible carbon fiber is the rear spoiler.

 

Thanks I thought it was maybe the vents (gills) on the front fender sides, they look like they are a seperate part, I wonder if they would fit on a 08 ? BL

 

Will the body man have to modify the mounts or will it sit right on the trunk at right angle already? Great idea!

 

I sent a email to Wing King CGillman0513@aol.com regarding the spoiler for the xkr s , I have dealt with them before , they make a good product at a good price, They are not making the spoiler as yet but I get the impression that if there is enough interest they may,so if anybody is interested send them e.mail BL.

 

There is an OEM XKR-S rear trunk spoiler for sale on ebay.uk. They are asking $3000 USD for it. A good deal instead of $9000 from the dealer. Just letting you guys know.

I was finally able to get my factory spoiler off (damn plastic clips). I can't believe how many holes there are on the trunk under the damn thing... It even has a groove under it. That means I have to repaint part of the hatch. AHHHHH.... Pisses me off... The GTR wing sits perfectly flat on the trunk though so I won't have to modify it. I think I'll leave it black, it fits well with all my black accents (trunk & side sills, hood louvers, front grills and wheels). The GTR wing is about an inch wider on both sides then the XKR-S wing but it has the same height. Here are some quick pics, please keep in mind it's NOT a finished product...

First off, I love seeing what you have done to your car. You continually think outside the box and are not afraid to experiment. And have ended up with one of the most unique XKRs out there.

I do have to say, the spoiler does look a bit on the large size. Maybe only an inch or two wide.. I think visually you could bring it in by having the “feet” painted. I guess something like that in the attached photo.

My next question, and I believe you own an 07. As you currently have your Spoiler off, have you considered running your Antenna though your spoiler?

 

Thanks Speedy, I'll have the trunk painted and the wing mounted first as is. Then I'll see the result, if I don't like it, I'll do as you say and have the legs painted the color of the car.

If you buy my XKRS spoiler you won't have to paint your hatch cuz it will cover the holes. The color is dark gray so it will look good in contrast with your white XKR and it will fit perfectly. To be honest the GTR spoiler does look a little big. Just a thought. It doesn't really matter to me since I'm going to put it on Ebay anyways. But it is a good opportunity if you can handle the $3200. I know that's not cheap but it is real carbon fiber not a wrap.
