This kid does a lot of reviews and has gotten popular. 4 yrs ago he did this XKRS review. In the review about 4:00 to 4:15 you can really here this noise that I do not hear on my XKR. It's a constant higher pitched noise that sounds almost electrical. Anybody got any idea what it is?! Do all XKRS have that noise? I'd assume it's normal and possibly part of the XKRS tune?

 

I think maybe that noise was coming from something other than the car. Like an A/C compressor from a building.

 

Mine sounds like this and in real life it is way louder !

 

Mine too!! THE XKR-S that is..however the XKR is just a low burble and no high pitched sound... I wonder what that is??? Sounds like its normal if you have a XKRS have it, the new XKRS in that video has it, and my XKRS is basically new and has it! Im a lot less worried but still curious!

 

Interesting enough as the sound is exactly the same as my 12 XKR with the performance active exhaust. It doesn't seem like the additional 40HP makes much sound difference. I do like the seats though and wouldn't mind them in my car.

 

It must have to do with the Performance Active Exhaust then I wonder?

 

I just know the XKR doesn't have that sound at all... I like that it doesn't...it sounds all deep and pure. I don't know...its normal then no harm no foul.

 

How do you know if you have the performance active exhaust as my 11 XKR sounds the same ? it has the speed and black pack fitted if that makes any difference .

Just put your VIN in there and you can see with what your car is equipped

 

If you look under the car near the end of the transmission there is an X cross over pipe in the exhaust system and you do not have any resonators.
