Your 2007+ XK Mistaken For ...
Two weeks ago I pulled into a gas station for a fill and a wash. A man with a Cadillac Escalade SUV complimented my car, adding "at first I thought it was an Alfa Romeo."
I didn't mind that since I've owned two of those. The uniqueness of the Jag can easily cause confusion.
What has your XK been mistakenly identified as?

Mine has been accused of being an Aston Martin and a Maserati The Jaguar XK looks NOTHING like a Maserati. I am convinced that the majority of people that compare the XK to a Maserati have probably never even seen a Maserati! I think that they make the association because the car looks exotic.
Have had the car now since April 8th, and aside from being told one of my backup lights is out, I've been asked a couple times if it was a new Aston Martin.
But several others new what it was. One guy that was driving a newer Merc said his wife wanted to trade her Merc in for an XK.

Aside from the AM similarities. I once got asked what mods I did to my "Mitsubishi Spyder." Must be the headlamps giving me away!

When BBCTV's Top Gear introduced the new XK they jokingly accused Ian Callum ( click > Ian Callum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) of using tracing paper on the DB9 to design the XK.

Last week, coming out of Amarillo headed for Ft Worth, I saw what I thought was another Jag XK coming up behind me and fixing to pass me. Wrong. Was a DB9. A few more cylinders and a few more bucks worth of car. Both look good imho.
I only got my '07 XKR on Friday but the first day I got it I popped in to get a quote for a wheel touch up that the dealer was supposed to do and mentioned that I needed the car back a.s.a.p as it only had a day-glo space saver and he said, "you would have thought that Aston Martin would have been able to afford a full size one".
He had actually had a good look at the wheel on the car at that point then walked around the rear to note down the number plate.

To be sure, this car gets more attention than any that I've ever owned. In my case, I get "what is that...?" as opposed to "isn't that a..."
When I do get asked about the car, I make it a point to be very courteous. The fact that "they" are nice enough to inquire is quite the complement!
