I have a xk140 my grandfather gave me and after looking over the title it does not fully match with the ID plate on the car. The title say its a 1958 xk140 vin number is BIL8231 on the title but on the ID plate is says VIn is S818231 which i read that my xk140 would be a 1955 so I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea about what I can do about getting the title fixed.

I think you may need advice from Ohio residents with BMV registration & titling knowledge more than XK140 specialists.

Check with Ohio Registration. Might have had a lost title at one time, Check the #s on the head and the engine to see if they match the ID plate. Might help to get a Heritage Certificate to see where and when it was delivered to the States, might have been transposed between States.
