Default Cigarette Lighter Does Not Work in 06 XK8

I know this sounds minor compared to other possible issues, but the lighter is needed for charging purposes. Gotta have it.

It suddenly doesn't work. Could it be a fuse?

If so, where is the fuse box and is this something a dumb girl could easily do?

its pretty straight foward really. do you have your owners manual? if so itll be on the interior fuse box. im not 100% sure where it is because i havent had to change a fuse in the xk8 yet but itll tell you right in the owners manual. itll also tell you what fuse it which. look up the cigarette lighter and look to see what number fuse it is. simply pull out and replace the fuse with the new one. make sure it is the same fuse

that fuse goes a lot of times since coins, metal pens, etc., are placed there overnight by the car gremlins. I carry a few spares just for that occasion.

WhiteXKR hit the nail on the head. That particular fix is the first one I had to do on my XKR. Needed it so I could plug in my Garmin and find my way home with the new to me Jag. It's really easy. You can do it. Good Luck.

I love you all. Thank you. I have never had a lighter go bad in any car. First time.

Owner's manual misplaced for the moment.

Will try things out tomorrow.

Default Lost the fuse before

Hi Samantha, It is fuse #14, 20amp in the passenger side fusebox. I also needed that cigarette lighter connection for a GPS and a Radar Detector. I bought a two-hole connector that workes great. Many connectors do not fit; they are too short, but I finally found one at AutoZone. I found that if you "twist" the plug-in to the cigarette lighter, it will blow the fuse. Just push straight in and pull straight out. Hope that helps. Ron

Come to think of it, anything could have dropped in mine. I took the lighter out a long time ago and put it in the house. So, often my connection is wide open with the cover open for something to drop in it.

I will put the lighter back in to avoid this and keep the cover closed.
