Default inertia switch 2005-2006 owners please advise

99 xk8 - can anyone give me a detailed location of where the inertia switch is on this model? I have no fuel pressure and the fuses look good.
thanks

The inertia switch is installed next to the fuse box in the LH end of the fascia (The Dash).

Thank you Gus! you are the man. I have been searching all day long for that thing. I want to see if it tripped prior to going into the fuel tank. I will post tomorrow after I look at it. I am still trying to defrost, as it is cold here in Virginia

Yes I know I am presently in Leesburg, Va I have a procedure on the fuel pump but first see if it has power and that the filter is not restricting your fuel. http://www.gusglikas.com/AutoRepairFuelPump.htm

I am now asuming that it is not a GFI type switch if that is the location. If so, how do I check it

After more searching the onlt thing I am finding in there is a large block next to the fuse box, that has a rubber boot on it. Inside or under the boot is a spring loaded device. Does not look what I should be looking for tho

I have an '05 XKR and the inertia switch is not located where it is supposed to be. Do I even have an inertia switch?
(then again, I have fuses where the handbook says there are supposed to be none)

yes, booted thing is the switch...taken directly from the JTIS CD...if you dont' have one, definitely get yourself one for Christmas...$10 from ebay. Get the 2004 edition (has the 2004 XJ8 in it), its the last CD type out there. May be listed as a Jaguar TIS item...not JTIS.

2005... should be same spot.

Default inertia switch

It is on the drivers side fuse box. Open the box and look to the left you will see a black box with a rubber button on top of it. If it is the problem press down on the button and you will hear a click. If you tripped your inertia switch you would be experiencing a lot more problems. Codes like gearbox failure would come up electrical malfuntion. All kind of codes would come up and the car would not start or even try to turn.

Default 2005 xkr inertia switch

Usually they are located in the truck jaguar is the only one that I have seen in the dash. If you are not the origonal owner it is possible the owner before you might have taken it out but i do not understand how the car would run without it. Unless he figured a way around it. The part is about 60 dollars and is a good thing to have. If you car drives I would take it to your local jaguar dealer. If it doesn't drive tell me some of the lights that are coming up in your cars dash I might be able to help you.

I don't need to post photos of where it should be. Because, there's nothing but fuses and maybe a couple relays.I know where the switch is supposed to be . It shows where it is supposed to be in the glove box manual. I am guessing the technology had changed by '05 and they were able to accomplish the task in a different manner. I am also guessing that if anybody out there has a late '05, or an '06 Jag XKR, that they will not have one in the side of the facia as well.
