Thanks Gus.... I have the highest respect for your mechanical prowess.
But, on my '05..... They must have moved it. Since it was so close toward the end of the production of that model , jaguar or ford, just decided not to include this update their drawings (Including DHB). Hey,I work at Boeing, and I see this kind of thing all the time(not with the Airpalnes) on many things.

Cohibarandy's Right
OK guys - Y'all got me to make a run out to the parking lot with my cellphone/camera, and here are the results:
On my 2006 XK8 (not R), there's just a big, open space next to the fuse block on the driver's (left) side.
Went and checked the passenger side, and there's a black, boxy thingy over there, but it does not have a reset button that I could find, so I'm not sure what it is:
Them's the facts.
Hey cohibarandy - where do you work at Boeing? I'm up in Evt. By the way, you probably never worked on a 707 or 727 that had been in service for years, but lots of times things were not always where the drawings said they were.
Cheers,

It obviously is not at the fuse box but I would bet it is behind the kick plate. Pull that cover off and see if you do not have a plate as indicated in my last post. Pull it off and I bet it is behind that plate. I worked on aircraft for 4 years and designed 2 tool applications for c141 & ac130 because the engineers / designers put the items in the wrong place. I do understand.

I have a 06' XKR and found the inertia sw. right where the owners manual says it is. Here's the quote from my owners manual "The inertia switch is located behind the trim on the left-hand side (drivers side) of the vehicle, forward of the door post below the fascia. The reset button is parallel with the trim panel top edge" The button is hard to see, but with a flash light you can see a red rubber seal which is the button cover exactly even with the top edge of the trim panel that houses the hood release. This was on pg. 6-3 of my owners manual.

I took a peek under the dash this morning , and didn't find the dang thing...
Mountaincat, your manual must be updated, as my manual shows it where it "used to be".
Thanks for the pics Larry... I knew I wasn't that nuts. ( I work at SDC in SeaTac wa.)
Anyway.. I will take a better look this afternoon. if the fuel shunt ever gets tripped, I am pretty sure I will call AAA and have the car towed home anyway.

"The inertia switch is installed next to the fuse box in the LH end of the fascia. When activated, it deenergizes the ignition relays in the engine compartment, driver's side fascia and trunk fuse boxes. It also removes ground inputs from the BPM and windshield wiper stalk switch. This stops the engine and fuel pump, unlocks any locked door, and de-energizes unnecessary electrical systems. The switch is reset by pressing down on the rubber cap on the top of the switch".

I believe the inertia switch is called a "roll-over" switch reset in other cars. In my 2006 xkr the switch is on the opposite side of the fascia fuse box, in other words the fuse box mates against the door when closed. The inertia switch is located above the foot rest behind the plastic trim just below the top of the trim. Just feel with your fingers towards the back of the trim and you'll feel the rubber boot (which is red) covering the switch.
