Default 03 XK8 transmission fill and drain plug washers

Getting ready to change the trans fluid. What plug seals/washers do I need?

Any part numbers?

My SNG Barratt Group parts catalog is not showing the individual fill plug or drain plug rubber washers available separately. It may be worth a phone call to them to inquire (800-452-4787)....

The fill plug is taper pipe thread and needs no o-ring, we just put anti seize to help on next removal. We also changed the filter so the filter/pan had the proper plug/ o-ring. The drain o-ring will probably not be damaged so we re-used it when we did the 2nd change to get most of old fluid replaced. Should you change filter, please obtain the new larger torx bolts fasteners. Search will reveal proper tools, but the fill is 8mm hex and drain is 10mm hex if memory :-) is correct. good luck

Thanks, I checked my SNG catalog and it did not show any o rings or washers for either plug, maybe I missed it. Reason I ask is the JITS says to throw away the fill plug washer and replace.

You can get malleable copper washers at any parts store, including Advance, and Autozone. It takes a lot of trying to screw up a soft copper washer, but some day I am sure they will succeed. I usually don't risk reusing sixty cents of copper washers, because usually they don't leak, but in the 20% chance they do leak, you have to go through the mess of putting a new washer on the drain plug, and spilling fresh oil everywhere....Be cool.....Mike
