I like the comment on the car just acceleated when trying to brake...Ive done that too, since I brake with corner of the pedal and sometimes catch the gas pedal too. The harder you brake the faster you go....Just proving the fact that stupid people drive too. And if they think the XKR is fast wait till next year when the 5litre comes out with 510hp

Heh heh. I got a chuckle out of the "...its just a souped up Mustang" remark. Yeah, that guy really knows his cars all right !

I think BMW has some nice cars but they have a major non-repairable flaw: their image

:-) :-)

Cheers

I liked how many of them slammed Jaguar reliability. I guess they never heard of J.D. Power and Associates.

Jag = no.1
BMW = no.17

Hmmm, should we tell them? Nah, let 'em suffer...

I have a friend with an 04 BMW who bought his about the same time I bought my 04 XJ8. He chided me about how much time my car would be in the shop because that is where Jags spend most of their time. His BMW is constantly in the shop for electrical issues and interior trim pieces falling off. He says now he wishes he had got a Jaguar instead.

It's not just the Bimmer crowd that's in a lather about the new XKR. Over on 6speedonline board the Aston Martin forum members are really bemoaning the fact that the XKR has more power than both the Vantage and the DB9. I'm looking forward to how some of the tuner shops are going to modify it. I'm guessing they'll lean on it to the tune of about 600 or so hp and a top speed of 200 mph or assuming they can defeat the speed limiter.
