19 inch BBS Montreals 2 piece or 3 ?
Hello good folks of Jaguar and thanks in advance for your input.
I recently purchased a cheap set of 19 inch Montreal BBS wheels. They need a refurb so no problem but having trouble working out the issue with them being described as 2 piece alloy wheels by some online sellers when there is clearly 3 parts with the rings and trying to track down 19 inch BBS wheel rings is proving ellusive.
So I'm wondering, how hard are these rings are to refurbish. see pic of munched up wheel ring and a new one which is 20 inch by the way.

That trim piece is purely cosmetic, so it doesn't count as a "piece" when calling the wheels 2- or 3-piece; you can reassemble the wheel without it and it would work fine. Proper three-piece wheels have a separate piece of the barrel that lifts off.

Unfortunately the place I've usually ordered from (http://www.jagwheeltrims.co.uk/) seems to be all out of the 19" trim pieces; there's a place in the US that seems to take them in trade (http://www.wheelcollision.com/store/...XK-XK8-XKR.htm), but I daresay that'd be a logistical challenge.

Stephen,
You will need a new S/S Ring for your 3 piece 19" BBS Montreal Wheels....That one is a little on the beat-up side......You can order what you will need from SB Wheels in England sales@sbwheels.co.uk
They have just about everything BBS and the 19" BBS S/S Wheel Ring will be hard to find.....Be sure to get some each screw-on Air Valves, Split Rim Bolts and a new Air Valve for each Wheel...
Good Luck!

Give Steve (SB Wheels) a call. He's very helpful.
Dismantling split rim alloys is the challenge as the titanium bolts are fitted with Loctite. From the photo, it looks as if that wheel may not even have the chrome ring fitted and the damage is to the aluminium which is usually covered by the ring.....?
Very lucky to find a set of Montreal wheels. They are becoming increasingly rare and much sought after.

Thanks for your replies. I have actually found Steve from SB Wheels on E-bay and sent him a message about replacement rings for 19 inch Montreals. He replied today and like you said, he was very helpful. The rings are in fact, still on the wheels as I can see them begining to come away from the rim where they are damaged.
cheers folks

From the photo of your Wheel...the only thing that needs replacing is the Trim Ring...It is a little bit to banged up to be cleaned up and you need a new one in order for that wheel to be right....You could try filing the rough edges down but there is a bent area that would require some Hammer work.....If you are pretty good at Body Work you might be able to save it. After all, they cost $125.00 or so! Those Wheels are getting hard to get and the Price is going up every year... But what a beautiful Wheel!
Good Luck! Billy Clyde
