1997 xk8 secondary chain failure

so I ran the engine for about 10 minutes attempting to start and had it running badly with the left side secondary timing chain broken. it has 80k on it not that that matters. Did I kill the engine?

When the right side secondary broke on mine at 57k miles with the original owner it bent 2 exhaust valves. It now has 98k miles on it after it was repaired 41k ago.
