1997 XK8 Timing Chains

Hi,
I would appreciate any feedback on cost of having all 4 timing chains, tensioners, etc. replaced. I have received a quote of $3,300 from a Charlotte, NC area repair shop. Thanks for your reply(s).!!

The local Jaguar independent in Daytona Beach does them for $1500 all day long. Parts run about $500-$600 depending upon what else you want to repair/upgrade while the engine front cover is off.

The tensioners and chains is veryspecific to Jaguar.I can see how there would be a significant price differential between a shop that is capable of doing this type of work, and one that does it on a regular basis. Find one that does it on a regualr basis and I bet your quote is cut in half.
