i was wondering if someone could help me out.i have the original radio and trunk C D player,and wish to keep it,however its been acting up.i susspected it was the cd player at first cause it would give me trouble with a code.then for quite some time it was OK,but now the cd unit will play for a short time an then quit and at the same time i have a no FM-radio reception message.so is it the radio or the cd player.theres a salvage yard close by that has some xk8's and xj8's ,so can i replace the radio and or the cd unit without worring about securety codes[as in one radio from one car to the other]...steve.

 

The vast majority of US cars do not have security enabled for the audio system.

 

Sounds like the deck to me, because the cd player and antenna ARE BOTH HARDWIRED TO THE DECK, so both cant be bad at once all of sudden you know?

I have my complete system I removed from my 2002 and it worked perfectly. I was listing on ebay but would rather not have to. Stereo deck, amp, and cd changer.

 

as i recall the antenna did not go out when the CD quit and FM code showed up,but then again i was pretty peeved when it kept happening.i dont drive it that much as i have lots of neet cars that i have built,but i must say its on of the coolest cas i've owned and wish to keep it in good working order.hey PHILHEF,thanks for the ofer, i'll keep in mind but it might take a few weeks for me to look into it as i've quit driving it for the season...steve
