Default 1999 XK8 Fuel Door Actuator

Am I seriously to believe that Jaguar "installed" this part on a $70,000+ car with two-sided tape? No screws, bolts, or brackets? I got a replacement actuator but of course it did not come with the expensive plastic nut that holds it on. I just ordered one of those also. Because I did not want to risk the fuel door being open and someone catching it on the way by, I taped the actuator to the inside of the fender and then, wait for it, wrapped a kitchen twist tie around the neck that protrudes into the fuel door and latches it shut!!! It worked. Now when the actual nut comes, I simply remove the twist tie and install the nut. Hopefully, it is in good used condition and will hold sufficiently.

Yep, the 2003MY is the same. Use of double Sided Tape - I never noticed that before, I wonder if that has ever failed and someones solenoid fell off?
