Is there such a car ? 1999 XKR or did they begin in 2000 how about a 1999 with the louvered hood & racing pedals

I Fairly certain that the 2000 model year was the first intro for the XKR.
That said I would not be suprised to see 2000 XKR's with 1999 actual build date on the data plate. Jag starts building like any other maker early enough to have the cars in the showrooms on time. I myself had a 2003 XK8 with a Sept 2002 Build Date.

Thanks 1890 thats what I kinda tought but I see one for sale that says 1999 xk8 BUT it has a louvered hood racing pedals & the R's grill can't figure it out

 

Alot of XK8 owners have bought those aftermarket items to make them look like an XKR.It like a cross dresser,it looks good but its not the real thing.

 

Actually, pre-2000 XKRs were available in England and maybe some other markets. I don't know the first year that they were offered.

 

They were available for the UK market,but none were for export.The first XKR for the North American market was the MY 2000.

 

By chance, does anyone know the earliest XKR VIN's that were exported to the US?
