2000 XK8 Misfiring on #1,2,3,4,
New menber Here:
Thanks to all of the advice I have received from this forum!!
I wanted to join so I could get some more advice.
I didn't see a way to enter my profile at registration. It would be:

2007 XK
2000 XK8
2002 X-Type
My first Post:
My XK8 instantly developed a misfire on cylinders #1,#2,#3, & #4 all on the same bank.
I have 30psi fuel pressure at the rail with 35psi with the engine that will barely run.
Based on what I have read on this forum I have a failed secondary time chain tensiononer.
I do all of my own work on all of my Jaguars which so far has been only routine maintenance.
I will be removing both cam covers and dertermining how many teeth have been jumped.
Comments/suggestions/advice anyone?

The capacitor problem was 1997 and usually misfire on both banks. This may be a jumped chain due to tensioner failure. Do not attempt to start. The fuel pressure is low, should be 45, but don't worry about that. Take the covers off and check alignment. You may have been lucky.
Please do check your chain and tensioner, but it can also be one of your coils.
My 2000 XKR suddenly nearly died last summer, also with fault codes for the entire left bank.
When I removed the coil cover I could clearly see that one of the coils had started to melt!
So if you have a bad coil that makes a short circuit the ECU will shut down all of them.
