2000 XKR wont start after winter storage
My 2000 XKR with 41090 miles was running fine when I put it away for winter storage last Nov.,I put Stabil into the tank with fresh gas before putting it away.On May 1st I put the battery back in and it turn over but didn't fire, tried five more times and nothing.I put the air filter off and had some one spray starting fluid into the air intake and it started and ran as long as the spray was going into the intake.I thought that maybe the fuel filter was the problem so the replaced it,but no luck.Same thing,it would turn over but would not fire.I don't have access to the fault codes so I can't pin point what it might be.I have stored this car for the winter months since this car was new and this is the first time I have had a problem bring the Jag back to life for the spring runs.Any thought of what I could try before I call the tow truck and send it over to the dealer. This car has been will maintain and never has been a problem till now

fuel pump is the most likely fault since they almost always fail when first starting since they pull the most amps like any motor does to start turning. Depress the shrader valve(looks like a tire valve stem) with a small screw driver after cranking. it should give a small squirt if theres pressure. dribble or nothing if no fuel pressure

Brutal-If it is the fuel pump,it looks like you need to remove the fuel tank, which need a couple of special tools,is there any work around on the tools.Alldata give about 2-4 hours on the rate, which means about double for me,whats you take on the project. Also,is there an easier way to drain the tank, the old hose thru the filler just doesn't make it into the tank

2000 xkr wont start
Brutal was right,it was the fuel pumps, yes there are two of them in the XKR.The wiring was fine and I did check each pump and they were both bad.Brutal help me thru the worst part and that was getting to the fuel lines on the tank, which you have to get at under the car and above the axel with less than 1.5 inch to get the disconnect tool onto the lines and release them.Like Brutal told me,plan on getting dirty.Once you get the lines off and the gas removed, the tank is easy to handle. The rest of the stuff is by the book.
