How does the 2000 xkr and xj8 differential compare? I found a unit from a 98 xj8. Can I exchange the driveshaft flange, modify the shaft on the pinion on the xj8 by cutting it off?

Thanks for your reply motorcarman. So both units are identical with the exception of the pinion & flange? Has someone else, that you recall, performed this mod with positive results? Thanks again!

 

I replace the differential assembly in my 2002 XKR100 about three months ago. Like you,I found one that was set up for a donut instead of a flange. I cut off the snout and installed the flange from the broken diff. I wanted to just replace the ring and pinion but could not find the pieces. Supposedly it is a DANA unit actually made by *** in Germany.
