Exclamation 2001 XK8 73K Mi - new owner

I'm a newbie to this forum but first glance tells me its a good forum. I am also a newbie Jag owner and would like to know maybe the top five or ten common issues I should be aware of for the XK8. I have another thread going regarding timing issues but thought I would ask about others.

Thanks

Have you read the stickied threads at the top of the XK8/XKR section? If not, go do so immediately. You'll learn of plastic tensioners that should be replaced with the metal ones in your 4.0 engine if they already have not been, the susceptability of these cars to cooling system issues that can destroy your engine usually due to the lousy plastic components used in them, fuel pump failures that are once again due to plastic internal parts that degrade and fail, and the dreaded ragtop "green shower" failure usually due to the substandard hydraulic hoses that were used in the top operation system....

Lots to learn, but nothing that cannot be resolved if you study up and take action....
