Default 2001 XKR Fuse 3 blown and no fog lights

My fog lights dont work and looking at other member comments seems to mean That a common fault is a short on the alarm sounder but I've checked underneath and my car doesn't see to have one. Nor does the car beep when I lock it the doors just automatically close. So I'm guessing my car doesn't have a thatcham type alarm. However when I replace fuse 3 it blows so there's a short somewhere? Any advice very much appreciated as other than a few niggles the car is purring nicely.

Hi Phil,
The alarm sounder is behind the front, right, wheel liner, which you have to remove to see it.

If it doesn't sound, then it it probably hasn't been switched on. Which can only be done by dealer level diagnostics or Indy.

Hope this helps,

Default Fuse 3 cracked it! Everything working a treat.

Just to say that following everyone's advice I located the sounder via the inspection hatch FR wheel arch. Eventually got the connector off, isolated it and replaced Fuse 3. Guess what?...fog lights now working as well as fog light indicator lights on centre dash and the heated seats working too. Just going to leave the sounder for now as it's really surplus to requirements. Thanks guys!

Glad to hear you are sorted Phil. If you do replace the sounder, I would suggest spraying the connector with silicone grease.

I spray all my connectors with this stuff especially the ones likely to get wet. So far, touch wood, never had a problem relating to water ingress.

Just a thought.
