Post 2002 XKR glove box

The latch on my glove box broke -- most likely due to a combination of the plastic degrading from ozone and sunlight along with too much force trying to open when stuck. Not know what was the root cause, or how to fix the latch, I pulled out the entire glove box. It came out quite easily and I was able to reattach the latch, while also restoring the spring action. However, now I am not able to get the box back in place. I can get the top screws in or the bottom ones, but not both. Does anyone know of tricks that will let the box slide back in? I'm afraid to apply too much force since the plastic is on the brittle side.

Any help appreciated!

I've had mine out and in a number of times and it is a frustrating business getting it back in! The main secret seems to be perseverance. You try time after time and suddenly it just goes in. It's never been obvious to me what I've done differently.

One thing I have found that helps is to align the lower edge and insert the two torx screws just a couple of turns. Then lifting and jiggling it about will succeed when you least expect it! Good luck!
