2002 XKR Non-Start after flat battery
Hi all,
New to the forum, I've just spent a couple of hours searching and getting some tips but not come across anything quite the same as my issue...
My car has been parked up for around 6 weeks since I last used it, that's not unusual as it can be laid up for months at a time on a Ctek conditioner. Here's where the trouble starts, I forgot to plug in the conditioner as I had no intention to leave it so long.
Came to the car yesterday and the battery was flat, I put the battery on charge (proper charger not the conditioner) and left it until lunchtime today. Battery is fully charged, the car now cranks strongly but does not fire.
I've checked all the quick, obvious things, fuses, relays, confirmed battery is definitely ok, no fault codes stored (except P1000). I only used it 6 weeks ago so I'm hoping/expecting it's a quirk of the flat battery and something simple I've missed. I didn't know about the foot on the throttle to shut off the fuel so there is perhaps a chance it cranked too long and flooded, but that's never been an issue in all my years ownership.
There is a motor type noise coming from under the bonnet, front of the engine which is continuous while ignition is on, this may be normal but I can't remember having the ignition on/bonnet open like that before!
I'm just reading through Jagmans non-start guide so will be going through that in the morning, I haven't yet checked fuel pressure at the rail, just wondering if there's anything simple I've overlooked or anyone have a similar experience after a flat battery?

Somewhat late to the party, but checking the fuel rail pressure is an easy $0 check. If you have no pressure, it may be that the primary fuel pump has died while the car was not in use (fairly common).
You can try removing the relay for the primary pump to force the secondary to fuel the car. This may or may not work as the secondary pump gets very little exercise in normal driving and may itself have died. Note that removing the relay will throw a P1230 code.

Since you already have the monitors not set P1000, you will do no harm with a hard reset. Member Gus explains it with pictures:

Make sure you have the radio code handy first, and you will need to reset the window travel.
