Default Coolant Reservoir

Hello. OK, I sure hope that I post this threat correct. Don't want be boot out since the Forum is full of experts and I really appreciate all your help.
I had my coolant reservoir replaced due to a small leak on it (I'm not sure if it need it replace, that's the price when you can't do the work yourself). My concern is that there are two inlet hose on the top of the reservoir. The mechanic left one intake w/o a hose. According to the part listings, there should be a hose bleed and a hose reservoir. The hose bleed is missing. Do you need it and where does it connect from the reservoir. I also saw a photo on a 2003 XKR w/o the bleed hose. Your help is greatly appreciated.

That is normal for your model year. My 2004 is same. That plastic port is not open if you look closely. Essentially a dummy stub now.

Default Only used on early X100

+1 to Rothwell

In the very early X100 MY cars, there’s a return hose from top of radiator to the coolant expansion tank. The dummy tank outlet is a left over from that....

Welcome to the forums Hazmat1075,

You'll have to try harder than that to get booted out.

This same question has worried many new owners. rothwell and DavidYau have given you the explanation. The second Bleed Hose from the Expansion Tank to the Radiator was discontinued very early in production and the outlet is now a blank port.
