I have followed all the shock/strut removal and installation posts and videos and they all seem to focus on the XK8. The XKR (which I have) is a little different on the passenger side due to the Air Intake Pipe which has the "Snorkel" (see image). My question is: How do I remove that shock mount nut which rests immediately under this snorkel? I thought I was ready to go now that I have all the parts to take this job on (new Struts w/Adaptive Control, mounts (Welsh and they do have flat top rivets), bump stops, gaiters, retaining rings, etc.). I started in on this job with the passenger side and was all ready to begin wrenching the nuts off the shock mount and came to a halt when seeing I was unable to remove the nut cover as there was no clearance under this snorkel. I'm Hoping someone has done this and found a way to remove this nut without taking this entire air intake pipe off. I appreciate any and all assistance from those here who are certainly more experienced dealing with the struts on these cars.
Thanks in advance.
The nut I need to remove rests immediately under the snorkel which protrudes off to the left in this image.

There should be more than enough flex in the intake tube to enable you to lift just enough to remove the cover and nut.
Pardon me for hijacking your thread dfbender; I'm about to do the same job on my 06XKR,..., you wouldn't have a parts list with vendors you used by chance?

Sure Robert. I sourced the correct shocks from a Jaguar dealership in Indiana and got 2 for $600 (would have around $800-$900 retail from local dealership). I bought Welsh shock mounts (returned the Eurospare mounts due to protruding to rivets - much discussion on this topic here in the forum). Also purchased shock retention it’s from Welsh. Bump stops from Jaguar dealership (also purchased bump stops and gaters from KYB but not sure they will and won’t know until final assembly and will return if not). The shocks took the longer to source as I didn’t want to fork over $800-$900 if I could avoid it. Good luck on your hunt Robert.
