Default 2003 XK8 on EBay

Anybody check this out? Some definite question marks here, but the price gives you some room.

I'll add a photo from the ebay listing. The thread will still be here long after the listing has gone.

Some serious swirls and kerb rash shown in other photos.

My guess is he isn't a member of this forum and has never heard of WhiteXKR's "Real Gauge" I doubt he gets even $5000 for it.

too bad it is not a 02 or older, that is good candidate for a LS1 swap!

Interesting, I go to look and see that the listing has ended, and the seller has put the same car up in another listing. The new listing appears identical to the original, but hasn't the (question and) answer describing the overheating:
Q: could you tell me more about condition of motor. How are the tires
A: The vehicle overheated due to a blown hose, possible bent valves, is what our mechanic has told us. The tire tread isn't equal on all 4. Overall about 50%. I can send closer pics of the tread if you'd like. Thanks for your interest!
I guess the original listing isn't easily found by searching on the site.

Think I'll pass on this "deal"

That's a shame....$5K and another $1 to $5 K to get it running. Still a good deal if the paint wasn't messed up. A lot of work to end up with the same amount of money invested as an 03 car in good condition.

The orginal auction ended with no takers so he relisted it at the same price.

Needs major mechanical, paint looks as if cleaned with steel wool, poor interior cosmetics, 120K, and "The vehicle has never been in a major accident." Which implies..

An expensive parts car?

This poor car.. clearly there's a lot missing in the "2 owner" history..

Paint is trashed. Interior is trashed. Mechanicals are trashed.

It looks like they purchased it off-lease in '06, which means one person managed to cause this much damage in the last 8 years. Safe to assume that not even basic oil changes have been performed.

Also, only 15k miles have been put on the car since 2011 which would suggest to me that's when it overheated. So the last 15k miles probably sent that engine to it's grave.

Also, Steve8, good catch with the delisting and removing the note about overheating. Vey sketchy.

Ultimately, I concur with MediaBobNY.... a very expensive parts car.

Can someone rescue that 07/08 from his driveway, please? Before its too late

Too Bad it sold, I thought we could all chip in and give it to Reverend Sam, that car has to generate 1000s of how to videos.
