I have one hose that goes back to the t-stat housing, there is another nipple on the tank, it had nothing on it when I got the car, should it? Looking down at tank, left nipple line to t-stat, right nipple no line on it, should it?

 

For your model year, it is correct that there is no hose attached to the nipple that is closest to the firewall. That nipple is blocked off on model year 1998 and later.

so over heating/boil over like in old cars does not come out there?
