My wife’s car.



The driver side door does not seem to be communicating with the car’s computer. The door light does not come on, nor does the “driver’s door open” message appear when the door is open. Also, the window does not behave as it should. It will drop a bit when I pull the door handle, then go up again the instant the handle is released. It does not wait until the door is closed.

Does this sound like a door module issue?

 

This is typically caused by a failing microswitch inside the door latch assembly. Quite a few of us have sourced more robust microswitches from www.mouser.com. The specific part is an Omron D2SW-3L3MS. Quite a few threads here on the forum showing how to do this repair. Search the forum using "XK8 door latch microswitch replacement" as your search phrase and you will have some reading to do....
