Default 2003 XKR Best After Market Wind Deflector?

Does any one have any experience with this Wind Deflector from 'Cabrio Systems' listed on Ebay at:

JAGUAR XK8 XKK xk3 CABRIOLET WIND DEFLECTOR WIND STOP | eBay

It looks like it has rather heavy duty locking pins that seem to require the drilling of extra large holes into the interior panels and bodywork.

And I am a bit worried about where the two 'dagger' like pins on the bottom section are supposed to go without always running the risk of tearing up the seats every time you use it.

Does anyone know if the XKR came with standard the wind deflector holes pre-drilled or did you have to order that option to have the pre-drilled holes in your car?

I know that the factory deflector mounts differently from these after market versions, with wide flat metal anchor points in the top of the top down space as opposed to the aftermarket locking pins mounted on the sides of the 'passenger' area.

Thanks for your input,

jamjax

I believe the most cost-effective bang-for-the-buck wind deflector would be a cap on your head. For a brief moment I was thinking about a wind deflector but why get a convertible in the first place if you don't care for that "wind in the hair" experience?

You guys obviously don't have hot chicks with long hair riding around in your cars.

My wife is the one who insisted on the deflector. I couldn't care one way or the other, but her hair blows into her face if the deflector isn't up. It's in my best interest to keep her happy.

The one up above actually looks pretty nice. The "dagger like pins" will rest on top of the rear seat back. It will be easy to remove and install because it has the spring-loaded pins on either side to lock it in place. The one I have requires me to unscrew a couple of knobs to remove it. It also looks like it doesn't stick up quite as far as mine does. I modified mine to make it sit lower.

The Reverend speaks with the wisdom of a happily married man.

I would like to stay that way as well.

When my Genius, Long Haired, Italian Super Model, International Diplomat wife insisted I get a convertible for our Anniversary it was her only request.

Fair Trade.

Rev. thanks for the helpful info as always.

I will order one right away.

cheers,

jamjax
