Short story, when I purchased my car the dealer gave me a remote with the key. Remote did not work. I have looked on e-bay and the net for a new one. Needless to say that when I searched for the FCC number on my remote (K8597T315) that number is for a 1997-2000 XK8. Aaaha! Some remotes are for sale on e-bay, and are quite ratty in appearance, real used! However the FCC number was listed (CWTWB1U322). Time for another search this time with the correct number. What showed up was a remote for a 1998-2011 Lincoln 4-button remote. Yes FORD! And this remote was on sale at www.bestbuyremotes.net for 24.95 with free shipping. I took a chance, Received the remote today, programmed it using instructions found elsewhere on this forum, and viola' it worked! No trip to the Jag dealer, brand spanking new, and cheap!
