A new owner of a 2 005 xk8 4.2
All dealer maintenance documented have a bulging hose tiny leak in thermo housing. I plan to replace all. Cooling components.

Your thoughts recommendations and any ford cross referenced parts and comments are appreciated I plan replacing the water pump, fully tensioners etc in for a penny in for a $ pound.

Not all bad ideas, so let me ask, why would you be changing the tensioners? After some time in 2002 the newer cars all had the metal ones and not a lot of reports on failure.
You are right about new hoses and the one across the front has been know to be a issue, mostly around the sending unit. You will not be able to get the aluminum housing for the newer cars (4.2).
All in all, getting the cooling system in good order is a big plus.

I think I did the same to my 2004 XK8 that you are wanting to do.

Maybe read thru my experience here since you have the same 4.2 engine. Covers a lot of what you need to know.

It's not a difficult job at all on this car.

 

Avoid URO hoses if possible. I assume the tensioner you want to change is the belt tensioner.

 

Of the cooling system parts, the only one that comes to mind that was shared with a Ford is the Water Pump. Look for the retro Ford Thunderbird/Lincoln LS 3.9 V8 water pump.
