Default 2005 XKR small white smoke puff on startup

Have had this car for a few weeks now and have had no problems (as expected). I had not driven the car for a few days and, over the weekend, decided to wash (one of my favorite pastimes when it comes to cars). After washing, I started the car to move back into the garage and noticed a small bit of white smoke in rear view mirror upon startup but this went away almost immediately.

In searching through this site, it sounds like this could have been due to something as minor as condensation in the supercharger to more major things such as leaky valve seals or head gasket problems.

Since the car is such low mileage (about 16,000) and was very well maintained, I am suspecting that the reason for the white puff was due to a combination of the car sitting a few days and my washing but I will keep alert over the next several startups to see if this happens again.

Is this something "typical" that happens to the cars with superchargers (condensation)?

Thanks,

Doug

If it's really smoke, keep an eye on it. If it's steam/condensation, don't worry about it. You may want to take a little trip in it to blow it out good. When ever starting the car it should be brought up to running temperature before shutting it down.

Well it has not happened again so I figure it must have had something to do with my washing the car. By the way I recently did a small bit of tinkering and cleaned up the inside of the throttle body (as best I could). That air inlet pipe is quite an interesting piece of work what with all of the various protuberances coming out at various places in odd directions. Do these things somehow serve to smooth out the airflow or are they fittings that would be used for other Jaguar models?

THEYRE TO QUIET DOWN THE INTAKE NOISE, AND THAT AND THE BELLOWS AND RIBBING SERVE AS RESTRICTIONS TO AIR FLOW

Is there a decent quality aftermarket intake that will improve performance and not trigger any computer trouble codes?

check minagallery.com, I have yet to see a complete replacement, but drop ins, and air box replacements that clamp onto the mass air flow
